The Alliance of Concerned Men, the Hill Havurah Tikkun Olam Committee, and Capitol Hill Village are proud to sponsor a webinar highlighting the Alliance’s work to address crime and violence. The webinar will feature the Alliance’s Program Director Larry McMichael as well as some other program managers, who will discuss the organization’s history as a positive force for positive changes in the community.
Founded in 1991 the Alliance of Concerned Men has been a leader on preventing and interrupting youth crime and gun violence. Its three principles are (1) every individual has infinite worth and dignity, (2) every individual harbors a desire to make a positive contribution to society, and (3) it takes a multifaceted strategy to change attitudes and values essential to leading humane and productive lives. Among the Alliance’s current activities is Cure the Streets, a violence interruption program aimed at preventing crime in DC through outreach efforts and in cooperation with the DC Attorney General.
