Stronger Memory Program at Capitol Hill Village

Would you like to improve your memory and learn habits that can maintain and/or improve memory over time? This program may be for you!

The Stronger Memory curriculum was developed using feedback from persons experiencing mild cognitive disorder and incorporating three practices that research has confirmed could help brain function:

  • Simple math done quickly
  • Reading out loud
  • Writing in long-hand

It is a 12-week program developed by Goodwin House with weekly meetings to check in and connect with others who are working to improve or repair their memory and to trade tips on how people are making it work. It is intended for those experiencing mild cognitive impairment and those looking to improve their memory.

Do you want to be involved?

Capitol Hill Village wants to start our own cohort of Stronger Memory participants. We are holding a virtual Information Session on Zoom with Goodwin House and a research team member from George Mason, who is conducting research to measure the efficacy of the program. During this info session you have the chance to ask Goodwin House, CHV staff and George Mason questions about the program and learn more about what participating would entail. *You do not need to participate in George Mason's research to partake in a Stronger Memory cohort.

CHV is open to both virtual and in person options for this program so let us know your preference! *Depending on who would like to join and the COVID-19 situation we may not be able to accomodate everyone's preference.

Sign up here to join and CHV will send you a Zoom link. If you have any technical difficulties please contact us directly at 202-543-1778.
