Low Vision Peer Group
June 25 4:00 PM - 5:15 PM
Please join us as we welcome Annie Linda, Orientation and Mobility Specialist at Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind.
These zoom and telephone call meetings will seek to connect District seniors experiencing Low Vision/Blindness, with professionals, and to others living with similar vision concerns.
Through lectures and mutual feedback, this group will assist in helping to re-create and balance a healthy lifestyle. Caretakers, spouses and children of loved ones experiencing vision loss are welcome
Hosts: Robin Blum/Meghan Wrinkle
Guest lecturer: Annie Linda, Orientation & Mobility Specialist at Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind
Join us to discuss the important resource of mobility training for the visually impaired. An orientation and mobility specialist is invaluable in restoring independence. We will answer the questions: What is blindness? What diseases lead to blindness?
Who needs this training? All those experiencing vision impairments should attend this zoom class to learn the answers. Ms. Linda will tell us, how to be more comfortable in surroundings, and properly utilize a white cane. She will explain safety issues, while maneuvering through your home and streets.
Please join us for a Q&A session after the lecture.
