Capitol Hill Village's Advocacy team, which has been successful in shaping approaches by the city to the needs of older adults, will describe its 2021 plans at a Zoom session on Thursday, March 25 at 10 am to see where you might fit in to this effort to bring policymakers' and others' attention to seniors' needs. The team's primary objective has been to promote affordable, community-based housing and support options for older adults living at home or in need of facility-based services. It advocate for older adults across the city, emphasizing those who are low- and middle-income and cannot afford or may not qualify for programs to offset the enormous costs of services and supports. Our priorities: Adult Day Health Center with Memory Care to serve older adults of all income levels in Ward 6 and nearby neighborhoods.DC Council actions on updates to DC's Comprehensive Plan and other legislation to reflect and recognize the growing population of older adults and their evolving needs as they age.Policies and practices to recruit, certify and compensate home health care workers. Please register online or by contacting the CHV office at 202/543-1778 or at info@capitolhillvillage.org, by March 24 at 3 p.m. Registrants will receive the Zoom link prior to the meeting. All members are welcome.
