Whether you own fine art or not, there’s always something fascinating about the professional field of art conservation. Join us for dinner with a conservator with more than 25 years of professional experience in museum and private art collections: get an overview of art conservation, general pointers on caring for your personal treasures, and how you can find a professional art conservator when needed.
Amber Kerr is the Head of Conservation and Senior Paintings Conservator at the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Lunder Conservation Center, a visible art conservation lab with floor-to-ceiling glass walls that enable museum visitors to observe the conservation and care of the collections. Kerr has served on the Washington Conservation Guild, the American Institute for Conservation (AIC), the International Institute for Conservation (IIC), and the International Council of Museums Conservation Council. She is a professional associate of the AIC, and a recognized Fellow of the IIC where she currently serves as a trustee on the IIC Board.
