United States Representative Oye Owolewa (D-D.C.) will update CHV members on the progress of the D.C. statehood bills in the House and Senate, and attacks on D.C. Home Rule as well as his various community initiatives – including capital business seminars, a drug take-back kiosk program, expungement clinics, and immigration town halls – and explain how individuals and/or groups are able get involved, if available and interested.

The CHV Defending Democracy Group aims to serve as a clearinghouse for information about upcoming events, provide points of contact for CHV members interested in other political groups, brainstorm ways to support local initiatives and, of course, provide a friendly and supportive group to help us get through this together!
