Join us for dinner with DC Councilmember Christina Henderson (I), chair of the Committee on Health, who championed passage of the Certified Nurse Aide Amendment Act of 2024 and is overseeing its implementation by the DC Department of Health. Her committee has oversight of the Health Department as well as the Department of Health Care Finance, both with responsibilities affecting the Home Healthcare Aide workforce. She is in her second term as an at-large member of the Council.
 
Councilmember Henderson attended Furman University, where she was the first Black student body president. She has worked for U.S. Senators, DC Councilmembers, and state and local education officials on an array of domestic policy issues which deeply impact families and children. CHV advocates who attended Councilmember Henderson's hearings found her impressive. She does her homework! The city is fortunate indeed to have her serving on the Council.
