Join us for a Wellness Café session, which will focus on helpful hints when dealing with hearing loss. We will cover a lot of ground, including the demographics of hearing loss (it’s more common than generally realized) as well as the importance of recognizing, acknowledging, and acting on hearing loss - staying engaged, and avoiding isolation, loneliness. You will learn about several health conditions (including, but not limited to cognitive problems) associated with untreated hearing loss. You will get tips on different kinds of hearing aids, both over the counter and prescription, and learn about hearing assistive and alerting technology. Also included will be information and resources on financial support and support organizations.

The speaker will be Russell Misheloff, past president of the Hearing Loss Association of America – DC area chapter (HLAA-DC), who currently serves on the chapter’s Executive Board.
