Systemic racial discrimination has been part of our society for centuries. It extended to all aspects of life in our country, in our city, including housing. Join us this month to learn about the past – "redlining” – and about our community's present efforts to improve our Black neighbors housing situation. We will watch “Segregated by Design” and Joanna Kendig will give us general overview of current programs aimed at improving Black citizens access to housing ownership and housing rental.
In future months we will follow with deeper dive into various aspects of housing in DC, starting with an April presentation by Dr. Yesim Sayin of DC Policy Center on April 6th at 1:30 pm.
