Join the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church's McClendon Scholar Program on Wednesday, February 8 at 7:00 PM EST which will feature Rev. Jimmie Hawkins in a discussion of his new book Unbroken and Unbowed: A History of Black Protest in America. Rev. Hawkins is Director of the Office of Social Witness for the Presbyterian Church in the USA, and he will give a short presentation on themes from his book and then engage in discussion with webinar participants. In order to get the zoom link to participate you need to register.
 
If we are to understand the struggle for racial equality then we need to be aware of our country’s history. Rev. Hawkins book gives a good overview of the battle against racism from the founding of America to the present day.
